Maynard L. Teeter
South Lansing - Maynard Leon Teeter, 81, formerly of South Lansing and Freeville R.D. died Saturday December 25, 1965, in Tompkins County Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Pennsylvania July 12, 1884, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Putman Teeter. He had been a lumberjack and employee of International Salt Company. He is survived by four sons, Carl of Groton, Oakley of Freeville, Harold of Auburn and Clifford Teeter of Newfield; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Dayton of Ithaca; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Suffern, Mrs. Jessie Young and Mrs. Ninna White, Binghamton. His late wife was Stella Dennis Teeter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shea Funeral Home with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Newfield. The Rev. Floyd DeFlyer, pastor of Lansing Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Teeter, 81 of 394 Van Ostrand Road, Groton, died Monday, September 9, 1991 at the Tompkins Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Teeter was born April 10, 1910 in Newfield, NY, son of the ate Maynard and Stella Dennis Teeter Mr. Teeter had lived in the Newfield and Freeville area for most of his life before moving to Groton in 1974. He has been employed with International Salt in Lansing and then retired from NCR after many years of service. Mr. Teeter is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theresa E. Kroboth Teeter at home. Two daughters, Joyce Kuhr of Vestal, NY and Edith Parlett of Freeville, NY, One son Clifford C Teeter, Jr. of Hagerstown, Maryland. Eight granddaughters, two grandsons, three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Carl and Oakley Teeter, both of Groton. One sister Wilma Dayton of Auburn, NY. Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 1991 at 2:00pm at the Herson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

Notes for DORIS GROVER: DORIS J. TEETER LANSING - Doris J. Teeter, 84, of Lansing, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006, at Beechtree Care Center, Ithaca, NY, where she had been residing. She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Teeter, on September 2, 1956; and her granddaughter, Tammy Wolfe, who was born on September 17, 1965; she was also predeceased by her grandson, Scott Parker; and special grandson, Mark Wandall. Doris is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Claone and Morris Wolfe, Lansing, Rose Teeter, Groton, Lori and Chris Parker, W. Groton; her two sons, Edward Teeter, Lansing, and Edwin Teeter, Lansing; her seven grandchildren, Melissa, Philip, Shani, Daniel, Richie, JR, and Katie; her three great-grandchildren, Madison, Brandon, and Clayton; several nieces and nephews, including her favorite niece, Barb Barron; and her extended family, Peachy and Judy. Doris was born in Lansingville, NY, on July 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Bion and Mae (Inman) Grover, and lived her entire life in the Lansing area. She worked for Ithaca Gun, the Pocketbook Factory, and also for the Lansing Central School system. Most recently, she was custodian for Cornell University, and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lansingville Fire Department. Doris enjoyed baking and generously sharing her famous donuts and apple pie with her family and friends. She always looked forward to playing bingo four nights a week at Beechtree, and loved the trips to the horse races at Tioga Downs. Doris had an especially cheerful personality that touched the lives of all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be held at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, on the anniversary of her late husband's birthday, Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. James Kane, Pastor of Living Water Free Methodist Church in Cortland, NY, officiating. Burial will follow in Lansingville Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at Lansing Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. GROTON- Thelma Labar Teeter, 77, of 390 Van Ostrand Road, Groton, New York, died at 3:10 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2004, at her residence. Born April 28, 1926 in Lansing, New York, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Alfeana Mosher Labar and the widow of Carl B. Teeter who died November 3, 2002. Mrs. Teeter was a member of The Lansing United Methodist Church, an avid antique collector and gardener. She also enjoyed gambling, horse races, lottery tickets and garage sales. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Jack) Banfield of Groton; her brother, David (Diane) Labar of Lansing; her sister, Rachel Hipolito of New Bedford, MA; her grandson, Eric (Gina) Banfield; her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordyn Banfield; and sisters-in-law, Theresa and Mabel Teeter. Her extended family includes her godchildren, Gregory (Debbie) Clark of Burdett, Pamela Lott and Becky Clark, both of Montour Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends including, JoAnn and Chris Jones, Tim and Barbara Terrell, Doris Teeter and Diana Wagner. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, George and Raymond Labar; and her sister, Betty Heath. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday at The Lansing Funeral Home, Inc. Rev. William Gottschalk-Fielding will officiate. Interment in West Groton Cemetery will be private. LEE EDWARD TEETER, 82, of Newfield, NY, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2004. He was born on April 11, 1922, in Montour Falls, NY. Lee was the son of the late Warren Teeter and Lena Bush Teeter. Lee was raised in Newfield, NY, and is an alumnus of Newfield Central School. He was a member of the 21st Engineers Aviation 3rd Battalion and a World War II Veteran. He was also a lifetime member of Carpenter's Union Local 603. Lee is survived by his wife, Marie Winters Teeter. Lee and Marie celebrated their 60th Anniversary on August 19, 2004. He is also survived by his children, Sandra (Robert) Cook, Warren (Kathy) Teeter, Linda (Gary) Christopher, David (Claire) Teeter, Diane (Victor) Silva; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his sister, Mildred Himmanen; brothers, Henry (Lillian) and Roy (Tracey) Teeter and his sister-in-law, Margie Teeter. Besides his parents, Lee was predeceased by his sisters, Clara Hayes, Elsie James and brother, Lawrence Teeter. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Road, Ithaca, NY, 14850. LILLIAN P. TEETER of NEWFIELD, NY, age 76, died unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on February 21, 2006 in Ocala, FL. She and her husband had been vacationing in Salt Springs, FL. Lillian was born in Newfield on November 14, 1929. She was the daughter of the late John and Aili Pakkala. She graduated from Newfield High School in 1947, and wed Henry (Hank) Teeter on May 1, 1948, a loving union of almost 58 years. Over the years, Lillian worked at The Home Dairy, as a GLF switchboard operator, and as an NCS lunchroom monitor. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and member of Home Bureau, and was active in Newfield Seniors. Lillian enjoyed music and dancing, camping, nature walks, animals, picking wild strawberries, visiting with friends and caring for her family. She will always be remembered for her ready and beautiful smile. She is survived by her husband, Hank Teeter; daughter, Nancy (Richard) Mazourek; and son, James H. (Kathleen) Teeter. She is also survived by her grandson, Michael (Shannon) Mazourek; brothers, Donald (Nancy) Pakkala and David (Susan Pakkala; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and an extended family of very close friends. She loved them all dearly. A memorial service to celebrate Lillian's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the Newfield Methodist Church, Rev. Thana Kibbe officiating. All are welcome. No flowers, please. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newfield Rescue Squad or to the Newfield Methodist Church in Lillian's memory.

Born Dec. 6, 1929 in Springfield Township, Pa., he was the son of Putman and Blanche Leonard Teeter. He owned and operated his dairy farm for 55 years. He collected toy farm tractors. Sidney was a loving husband, father and a special grandfather. He was a member of the East Smithfield United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Diahoga Grange. He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Sylvia, at home; daughter and son-in-law, Velma and Jim Gilmartin of Milan; son and daughter-in-law, Putman and Sharon Teeter of Erie, Pa.; daughter, Virginia Teeter of Milan; son, Jesse Teeter of Milan; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Sue Teeter of Ulster; son, Chad Teeter and his fiance, Stacey Garey of Towanda; 14 grandchildren, Mathew and Shawn Miller, Robert Jones, Tyler Wandell, Jason, Travis, Meghan, Christopher, Heide, Brett, Curtis, Samantha and Emily Teeter and Dustin Brady; five great-grandchildren, Michelle, Victorya, Kourtney, Vienia and Taylor; a sister, Jane Teeter of Ulster; a brother and sister-in-law, Alston and Genevieve Teeter of Milan; and numerous nieces and nephews. ANASTASIA IACOVELLI Anastasia Iacovelli, 79, of 468 Hayts Road, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Ithaca, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angelina Capolongo Centini and was the widow of Joseph W. Iacovelli, who died in 2002. Joseph and Anastasia had been married for over 55 years. She was a long time member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Anastasia is survived by her son, Joseph (Jutta) Iacovelli Jr.; daughters, Annette (Thomas) Robbins and Mary Ann Iacovelli; her grandchildren, Anne-Marie (Donald) Pett, Mary (David) Wirtz and Gabriel (Kate) Iacovelli; and great-grandchildren, Travis and Lindsay Pett, Stella Iacovelli and Melanie Wirtz. Anastasia is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
